Cedar Falls is a city in Black Hawk County, Iowa. It has a population of approximately 40,000, and is the smaller city of the Waterloo/Cedar Falls metropolitan area of 110,000. It is home to the University of Northern Iowa, a public university that was ranked as one of the Best Universities in the Midwest by The Princeton Review in 2015.
George Wyth State Park and Hartman Reserve Nature Center are near our church, and there are several museums and numerous other family-friendly attractions in both in Cedar Falls and Waterloo. Cedar Falls was voted Best Iowa Trail Town by the Iowa Bicycle Coalition on January 21, 2017, and was also named as one of the 50 Safest College Towns in America according to the 2015 SafeWise Report.
Local School Systems
Cedar Falls has one of the best public school districts in the state, and over 53 percent of the district’s staff has a Master’s Degree. The district emphasizes college and career readiness with the development of critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills. There are numerous opportunities to excel in academics, arts, athletics and other activities.
Additionally, there are some well-connected homeschool networks in both Cedar Falls and Waterloo.
