About 40 servants from Cedar Heights Baptist Church joined together to pray for and support Hope City Church in their efforts to “Serve the City” of Waterloo on Saturday, July 21.
As work teams from Hope City engaged in practical acts of service around Waterloo, CHBC was able to “stand behind” them in some supportive ways. Two teams from CHBC travelled to each work site to deliver water. Two other teams prayed over each site, the people working there, and those who would benefit from the work. A larger team facilitated lunch for the workers after the completion of the projects — no small feat as it involved setting up, serving lunch, and cleaning up after about 275 people.
There was a strong sense of unity among the two church families. Those involved made encouraging connections and experienced abundant joy in serving others. Everyone was blessed by Pastor Q’s enthusiasm as he and his church welcomed CHBC “for the glory of God” (Romans 15:7).
