Isaiah 52 Haikus

Isaiah 52 Haikus

During his sermon on July 2nd, 2023, Pastor Jeff explained the use of poetry and literary structure in Scripture to help communicate truth clearly and precisely. As an illustration, he explained the structure of a haiku (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables). He invited any kids in the audience to write their own haiku about the sermon text – Isaiah 52:13-15.

Here are the haikus composed by children that morning.

He is the servant.
He is the vindicator.
Yes! He is the Lord.

Behold my servant
Isaiah tying loose ends.
Jesus is revealed.

Who is this servant?
Stricken, glorified is He.
Who else but Jesus.

He suffers for us.
Glory in exaltation.
He proclaims the Word.

He died on the cross
and he rose on the third day
so we can be saved.

You explain the Word.
Oh God, you are the Alpha
And the Omega.
