Podcast Review: Family Discipleship

Family Discipleship Podcast
Hosted by Adam Griffin, Chelsea Griffin, and Cassie Bryant

What is it?

Following in the steps of the book Family Discipleship, the Family Discipleship Podcast elaborates on specific elements of family discipleship and provides an ongoing, regularly updated resource for parents seeking to disciple their kids. The podcast is hosted by one of the authors of the book and presents the same framework for thinking about family discipleship. However, the episodic format of an ongoing resource like a podcast allows them to discuss topics at much greater length. The experience and thoughtfulness of the hosts, as well as their many excellent guests, provide countless insights and encouragements for how to disciple your children.

Who’s it for?

This podcast is accessible and helpful to parents, grandparents, ministry leaders, and pastors – though it most heavily focuses on the home and the role of parents. The episodes are 30-45 minutes long and can easily be listened to while doing other activities. The podcast has a conversational style and as such serves as a conversation starter for the listener, giving you things to think about and discuss further with your spouse as you consider family discipleship in your home.

How’d it go?

“This is one of my favorite podcasts. I listen to it regularly, as does my wife. We both find the content so encouraging and life-giving. The episodes don’t leave us feeling guilty for something we haven’t been doing, rather they excite us for new things we could do. It’s a pretty common occurrence in our home to start a conversation with ‘I was listening to the Family Discipleship podcast today and…’

We’re grateful for this resource and recommend it every chance we get.” – Carter Brown
