Little Pilgrim’s Big Journey, Part II
Lithos Kids

What is it?
Accompanying Little Pilgrim’s Big Journey Part I, this adaptation of John Bunyan’s sequel tells the story of Christiana’s journey. It employs the same beautiful illustrating and masterful storytelling as Part I and is equally effective at communicating the story of the King’s Word, the King’s path, and the King’s city.

Who’s it for?
These adaptations of The Pilgrim’s Progress were written to engage kids ages 2 – 10. While the beautiful, full-page illustrations and simple, straightforward storytelling do in fact hold the interest of a two year old, the authors did not sacrifice the depth and richness of the allegory and imagery. The story is meaningful and edifying for people of all ages. It could be read by a child on their own or read together with a parent.

How’d it go?
“It would be hard for me to say enough good things about these books (both Part I and Part II). Second to the Bible, these are my favorite books in our home. After reading Part I for months with my daughter, I was both excited and skeptical to get Part II. I loved the first one so much, I wondered how anything could follow it. No need for skepticism – this delivered. While there is some repetition with Christiana traveling to the same places as Christian did, it is far from redundant. The repeated plot points mine even more truths out of the allegory that the original left untapped and the story has plenty of new elements that explore parts of our Christian walk not covered in Part I. Chapter 10 (in which Christiana crosses the River of Death and enters the Celestial City) left this non-reader baffled that a children’s book could make him cry.” – Carter Brown
