The Lightlings
R.C. Sproul

What is it?
“In The Lightlings, Dr. R.C. Sproul weaves an allegorical tale that captures the essence of the biblical story of redemption in a manner that will fascinate and delight children. A race of tiny beings known as lightlings represent humanity as they pass through all the stages of the biblical drama–creation, fall, and redemption. In the end, children will understand why some people fear light more than darkness, but why they need never fear darkness again.” – Christianbook.com

Who’s it for?
This book is designed to help introduce young children to deep theological concepts. This would probably be best for a younger elementary age child, ages 4-8 years old. It would be a great book to read with your kids and discuss with them. The book includes discussion questions to help guide your conversations after reading it.

How’d it go?
“I will definitely be buying this book for our library. I like the story and how well it illustrates the Gospel in an exciting way that the kids understand. The questions in the back of the book with Scripture were helpful. It was nice to have a guide for discussion after the story. My kids also really liked this book.” Jill Lee
