What is it?
This ESV Bible is equipped with an array of resources that will help to strengthen any teen in their faith. The devotions and sidebars throughout help to present the message of each accompanying passage in a relatable and clear way, while also challenging the reader to examine their heart before God. Included in the back of the Bible is a section of topical paragraphs written by a select handful of Christian authors, pastors, and ministry leaders. These articles tackle some of the tough questions that teens are facing today like depression, sexuality, and the will of God. The Scripture-first approach used by the authors not only gives clear guidance on the topic, but also helps to communicate the message of the Gospel as a whole. Because of the deep dive done by each columnist into the the intentionality that God made us with and how we are to live in the context of the church, every article stays Biblically grounded and theologically sound.
Who’s it for?
This Bible is a great tool and would be useful to many audiences other than teens. With that being said, it is made for high schoolers and the questions they have. Because of this, some resources like the articles at the back cover mature topics. Parents should read these with their younger teen or before giving it to them.
How’d it go?
I’ve been using this Bible regularly for over six months now and have found it extremely helpful in understanding each text and its implications. With a devotion every few pages, I have not gone long without being reminded of and encouraged by the joy I have in the Cross. I have also found the footnotes at the bottom of every page to be very useful in clarifying the meaning of many passages, which is why I go to them regularly. – Luke Bell (10th grade)
