Pastor Jeff McCourt grew up in the Pacific Northwest and in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from high school in Des Moines and then attended Biola College in La Mirada, California from 1979-1981. He ended up at Northwestern College in St. Paul and graduated from there in 1985. His wife Peggy grew up in Texas and also attended Biola, where they met. They married October 1, 1981.
For the past 16 years Jeff has ministered the Word of God as the Pastor of Worship Arts at New Hope Church in suburban Minneapolis. For 16 years prior to that, he served New Life Church of Woodbury, Minnesota in a similar role. For the next 16 years (or, as Jeff says, “as long as they’ll have me!”), he hopes to serve as the Lead Teaching Pastor at Cedar Heights.
Pastor Jeff and Peggy have four adult children (Alisa, Kara, Jackie and Preston), one delightful son-in-law (Aaron), and five living grandchildren (Levi, Nina, Talia, Carter and Miles). They enjoying biking, power walking, reading – usually the same book . . . sitting on the same sofa . . . in the same coffee shop – and dating.
