The One O’Clock Miracle
Alison Mitchell

What is it?

An imaginative and enjoyable retelling of Jesus’s healing of an official’s son from John 4:46-54 highlighting the power of Jesus because he is God’s Son.

Who’s it for?

This book is part of the “Tales That Tell The Truth” book series from Lifeway Publishers (check out a review of the entire series here). Like all the other books in the series, this book is designed to engage little children (3- to 6-year-olds) with a biblical truth or story as their parents read to them. The great storytelling combined with incredible illustrations is wonderful for helping kids understand and remember what the book is about.

How’d it go?

“This book was engaging and fun! A repetitive phrase (‘he walked and walked, and sometimes ran’) made it easy for the kids to participate and helped them follow the story easily. I also liked that it tells you where to find the story in Scripture at the end. My 9-year-old liked the book but found the story and illustrations a bit young. My 2 1/2-year-old was a little too young for this book but still showed interest and loved the pictures. My 7-year-old loved it all!” – Melissa Campbell
